Localfy / Support

Getting started with Localfy.

Installation information, your first music import, and a direct route to support.

Install and launch

Review the requirements on the download page. Setup installs Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1 from Microsoft if it is missing; internet access and Windows administrator approval may be needed. The installer and app are unsigned. If Windows blocks either one, keep Windows protections enabled and email support.

Add your music

The first library is empty. Choose Add music and select files or a folder from your PC. Folder imports show scan progress and can be canceled. A canceled import leaves the catalog unchanged. Ordinary imports keep audio in its selected source location and add a path reference to Localfy’s catalog; they do not copy audio into Localfy’s managed music folder. Keep those files accessible, and use Library Health to relink a file if you move it. Keep your own backups.

Browse and listen

Use Artists, Albums, or Your Library to find tracks. Open an artist to browse albums and unassigned tracks, then open an album to see its songs. Use the queue and playlists to choose what plays next.

Optional privacy controls

Settings includes optional library protection, crash reports, and product metrics. Metrics sharing is off by default; if you enable it, Localfy sends limited event data described on the privacy page. You can turn it off or request erasure in Settings. Library protection is off by default and protects Localfy catalogs and managed audio for the current Windows account; playback uses a temporary readable file. Original source files, playback state, artwork, lyrics, and ZIP backups are not protected by this setting. Crash reports are off by default, stored encrypted on this PC, and never uploaded automatically. Reports may include exception details and track names. Turning reporting off stops new captures but does not remove existing reports; review and delete them in Settings. Read the privacy details before enabling either feature.

Uninstall

The uninstaller is designed to remove the app, Start Menu shortcut, and uninstall entry while keeping music and profile data. This removal path has not yet been verified on a clean Windows environment.
