Localfy 1.0.1 is a patch update for the Windows music player. It fixes repeated Home content while scrolling, corrects the clipped favorite icon, and improves how artist pages lead into albums and their tracks.
New installations open to an empty library. Localfy does not include sample recordings or commercial album artwork. Users add the music files or folders they choose.
Patch notes
- Fixed Home shelves repeating or leaving artwork trails during scrolling.
- Fixed the favorite heart clipping in the player controls at different sizes and states.
- Artist pages now list albums and singles; selecting an album opens its tracks.
- Kept first launch clean: no bundled sample music or commercial album artwork.
- Setup now checks for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1 and downloads Microsoft’s installer if needed.
Installer prerequisites
Setup checks for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1. If it is missing, Setup downloads the official Microsoft installer, verifies the Authenticode signature and Microsoft publisher, then continues after Windows approval. The application’s managed playback libraries are embedded in Localfy.exe.
Windows N editions may require the Microsoft Media Feature Pack for FLAC playback. This is an optional Windows component installed through Windows Optional Features; a restart is required.
Verification
The focused Home and collection-navigation harness passed 29 checks. A separate stress harness passed 7 checks across a synthetic 10,000-track library. These checks do not establish real-audio playback or clean-machine Windows installation behavior. The app and installer are unsigned; Windows may warn or block them.
Localfy’s library and profile information stay on the PC. Optional album lookup contacts MusicBrainz and Cover Art Archive; the privacy page describes what the source review found and its limits.
The 1.0.1 installer has been superseded by Localfy 1.0.2. The third-party notices for this release remain available here.
